On the Syrian coast, and one of the most prominent landmarks of the city of Tartus is the ancient citadel, rising Al Shahin Hotel Twenty-one stories high to be one of the tallest hotel towers in the city. From its windows, Tartus reveals its face: the blue of the Mediterranean to the west, and the extension of the city and the coastal mountains from the other directions.
