The Aleppo Citadel stands on an artificial hill in the heart of the city, and is considered one of the oldest and most complex castles in the world. However, what distinguishes it is not just its size: the hill itself has been inhabited by humans for thousands of years, so what you see today of walls and towers is the upper layer above layers that cannot be counted. This visit focuses solely on the citadel — the famous stone bridge, the massive gate, the internal corridors, and the throne hall — with a view from above that reveals the entire ancient city with its markets and landmarks. Two hours are enough to understand what the Aleppans say about their city being read from above the citadel, not from the streets.

The visit includes ascents and uneven stone descents. Comfortable footwear is essential, and the visit is less suitable for those who have difficulty walking or use a wheelchair.
There are no nearby facilities in the open areas — bring water and a light jacket in winter as the winds can be strong at the top.
