This experience takes you to the heart of old Damascus in the morning, when the stone streets are still quiet and the aroma of warm bread precedes the shop owners to the street. You will sit down to a complete Sham breakfast, and learn how the hummus here differs from any other hummus you've tasted in your life, then stroll between the markets to understand where all these flavors originally come from.

  • Sit down to a complete Sham iftar: fatteh, foul, hummus with olive oil, labneh, makdous, and eggplant with sesame, and local olives.
  • A stroll through the spice market among the herbs, mixtures, and spices with a description of each scent you encounter.
  • Get to know the difference between Damascus-style fatteh and Lisanat-style fatteh and the nuances — and choose boldly.
  • Sweet ending: a piece of cheese dessert or a pastry on the Damascus way.

Additional Information

  • The best time for breakfast is 8:00 – 8:30 AM. The reason is practical, not romantic: the opening is served warm, and the chocolate usually melts before ten.
  • During the month of Ramadan, the program shifts to Suhoor in Damascus or Iftar after sunset at the same venue.
  • Food allergies must be reported to us at least 24 hours in advance (vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free).

Yes, absolutely. Children aged 6 and above will enjoy it a lot, especially the market tour and the sweets tasting. The route is short and includes long sitting periods, so there's no need to worry about fatigue.

Yes. The Levantine cuisine is rich in vegetarian dishes (foul, hummus, labneh, makdous, mutabbal). Please inform us 24 hours in advance and we will arrange a meal that suits you without you feeling like you "eat less than others."

 

Certainly, and this is what most visitors do. The historical tour (Umayyad Mosque, Azem Palace, Al-Mudhat Bashar Street) can be added directly after iftar — let us know when booking.

The price includes the full iftar, the guide, and the tour. The only thing you might pay extra for is what you purchase for yourself from the market — and we warn you in advance: few leave the market with empty hands!
